Senior Manager, Development

We are currently looking for a new Senior Manager, Development, to join our Advancement department. This is a full-time, permanent position based on our Fontainebleau campus.
The Senior Manager is part of the Reunion and Leadership Giving team, which is responsible for driving peer-to-peer outreach and broad-based support across the alumni and student communities. Reporting to the Senior Director, the Senior Manager (Development) is responsible for planning and executing fundraising efforts for assigned classes, managing volunteer committees and working closely with Advancement colleagues and student and alumni leaders to maximize participation and total giving. The Senior Manager achieves annual fundraising goals tied to specific student, young alumni, and reunion classes, developing and implementing class-wide fundraising plans and individual prospect strategies. The Senior Manager attends assigned Alumni Reunion Weekend events and travels occasionally over the course of the year to recruit, coordinate, solicit, and steward volunteer, donors, and prospective supporters. This Senior Manager has specific responsibility for emerging alumni philanthropy, with direct management of the 10, 15, and 20-year reunion fundraising.
Main tasks include:
Volunteer Management: Identify, recruit, manage, and steward reunion and class giving volunteers for assigned classes, delivering a fulfilling and rewarding volunteer experience.
Class Campaign Management: Plan and manage gift campaigns for assigned classes, achieving goals for participation and total giving.
Frontline Fundraising: Cultivate, solicit, and steward selected prospects in assigned classes.
Record-keeping: Record relevant information into Advancement databases and other record-keeping systems in a timely manner, ensuring well-informed analysis and decision-making
Collaboration and integration: Complete special projects as assigned and collaborate with faculty and staff, alumni, volunteers, and donors to further engagement and fundraising efforts and to advance the school as a Force for Good.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher
Work Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in fundraising and/or volunteer management, preferably in an educational institution, or in educational administration capacity.
Knowledge of principles, practices and vocabulary of educational fundraising and volunteer management
Familiarity with and commitment to the mission of higher education institutions
Strong written and oral communication skills, with success writing fundraising materials
Fluency in English required; good knowledge of French preferred
Effective public-speaking and presentation skills
Standard computer skills required (e.g. databases, reporting, web and virtual networks); knowledge of fundraising databases and volunteer management software preferred; comfort with new media/social networking also preferred
Proven ability to motivate, engage and work with alumni, university officials, faculty, and staff (or similar constituencies)
Track record in establishing credibility and confidence internally and externally
Highly organized, detail oriented and efficient with ability to produce clear documentation
Professionalism, maturity, collaborative approach to work, and ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to think strategically and conceptually, manage multiple projects, and handle difficult situations with flexibility and a sense of humour
Ability to work well under pressure with excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to set and meet deadlines
Keenness to work in a diverse, multi-cultural, global environment and ability to deal effectively and politely with people from all types of backgrounds and in a variety of difficult situations
Unfailingly diplomatic, comfortable with ambiguity, and very positive
Values and promotes creativity with strong marketing sense
